Results released for IBCOL 2024 Finals
The International Blockchain Olympiad ("IBCOL") was held at the InHolland University of Applied Science (Hogeschool InHolland) campus in Amsterdam at the Emerging Technologies Olympiad (ETO) on the 21st and 22nd of November 2024.
The Gold Medal (🥇) was awarded to Paper Dissemination System (PDS) from Romania, a decentralized approach to the paper dissemination and the peer review processes, leveraging smart contracts and NFT-based expert badges to enhance transparency, fairness, and quality in the review process, including features for reviewer remuneration and quality verification. Lead by team captain Delia Barbuta, PDS also won 2nd place in the ETO 2024 pitch stage.
The Silver Medal (🥈) was awarded to Journal of the Wills from the United States of America, a system where users can create, sign, and view will documents and more, to produce a comprehensive body of evidence that supports the final will's validity and authenticity so it can be recognized by court with more certainty. Lead by team captain Kaitlyn Zee, Journal of the Wills also won 3rd place in the ETO 2024 pitch stage.
The Bronze Medal (🥉) was awarded to Repro-Trust from Hong Kong SAR China, a permissioned blockchain solution designed to rebuild the trust on the fertility industry by facilitating confidential and anonymous information exchange among service providers. Lead by team captain Agnes Chiu, Repro-Trust AI also won 4th place in the ETO 2024 pitch stage.
All of the following teams were awarded the IBCOL 2024 Finalist certificate. Additionally, eight (8) teams were awarded the AoM or Award of Merit (🎖️) to recognize their outstanding effort.
